I was searching for a device that would record live TV/movies from an Android box to my Windows 10 PC and this box serves that purpose more than adequately. I can use it to record live TV streams directly from my cable provider using OBS and it captures nicely at 1080p / 60fps (although 60fps is overkill for what I wanted, I believe it can handle capturing video streams up to 4k, although I haven't tested its 4K capabilities yet records 1080p without a hitch. The setup was simple: connect the box to an available USB 3.0 port on a computer. Connect the included HDMI cable to your source (input), and connect another HDMI cable to your television (output) for simultaneous viewing on a computer screen and television. It should be noted there is only one HDMI cable included so you will need to supply your own HDMI if you want to view the output while recording. Once connected to my PC, Windows automatically sets up the device as a Camera device in the Windows device manager (so it appears to support true PNP, no external drivers are required for the installation). Configuration through OBS was easy by simply setting up the default audio/video source you want to capture from and specifying a frame rate for the capture. One thing to note about this unit is it cannot capture at higher than 30fps using 4K; it defaults to the default frame rate (at 30fps if capturing at 4K). I was not purchasing this product for gaming purposes so cannot comment on whether it's decent for capturing live footage from computer games, but handles capturing video excellently. There were some audio echoes heard when I played back a recording but muting the audio track "Desktop Audio" removed that glitch. The maximum resolution of video capture is 2560x1440 but overall the picture quality comes out decent. It may take a bit of tweaking using OBS to get your desired result but for $30, you can turn your P.C. into an HD video recorder, highly recommend this item.
